Calculate a bonus wagering target, subtract progress already credited and account for a game’s contribution rate. This tool supports bonus-only requirements, deposit-plus-bonus requirements and requirements applied to actual promotional spin winnings.
The result is the amount of eligible stakes described by the entered rules. It is not an amount you must deposit, a prediction of losses or a guaranteed cashout. Every example below is illustrative, rather than a claim about a current casino coupon.
Bonus wagering requirement calculator
Calculate a wagering requirement
Use one currency throughout. Dollar amounts below are formatted as AUD. Enter the basis and multiplier stated in the specific coupon.
Read these details before entering a bonus
A headline such as “30× wagering” is incomplete without the amount to which the multiplier applies. Read the specific promotional terms and identify the base, contribution and progress counter before calculating.
- Select the basis used by the promotion.
- Enter the actual bonus amount, qualifying deposit or spin winnings requested by that selection.
- Enter the wagering multiplier from the same offer.
- Enter the contribution percentage for the permitted game.
- Enter progress already counted by the casino, if any.
- Optionally enter a permitted stake per paid round for a round-count estimate.
The default calculation is a $20 bonus at 30×, with 100% contribution and no existing progress. It produces a $600 target and $600 of remaining stakes. The optional stake field is blank, so no round estimate is shown until you provide a value.
Use the credited bonus amount
A percentage match may be capped. If a hypothetical 200% match is capped at $100, a $75 qualifying deposit does not produce $150 of bonus credit. Use the actual eligible $100 bonus in the tool, then select the basis specified in the rules.
Keep one currency throughout
Amounts are formatted as AUD. The calculator does not perform currency conversion. A USD account counter cannot be combined with an AUD deposit figure without first reconciling all inputs in the same denomination. Read the AUD slots guide for the difference between account currency and a dollar symbol.
Bonus only, deposit plus bonus or spin winnings?
Bonus only
Target = bonus × multiplier
A $50 bonus at 30× creates $1,500 of counted wagering. The deposit is not added to the base in this example.
Deposit plus bonus
Target = (deposit + bonus) × multiplier
A $50 deposit and $50 bonus at 30× create $3,000 of counted wagering.
Free-spin winnings
Target = actual promotional winnings × multiplier
If promotional spins return $12 and their winnings carry 30× wagering, the target is $360.
The same 30× label can therefore produce very different targets. Do not choose the smallest answer unless it matches the actual terms. If the wording does not establish a basis, ask for clarification rather than guessing.
The number of spins is not their winnings
Fifty promotional spins at $0.20 have $10 of nominal assigned stakes. That does not establish that the spins will return $10. When the requirement applies to winnings, enter the actual credited winnings after those rounds have resolved.
Some offers combine a match with assigned spins and give the components separate conditions. Calculate each separately where required. A single target for the combined package is appropriate only when that is how the actual rules define it.
Our deposit bonuses, free spins and free chips pages explain the different benefit types.
How game contribution changes the required stakes
Contribution is the share of an eligible stake counted towards the target. At 100%, a $1 permitted stake adds $1 of progress. At 20%, the same stake adds $0.20. A game excluded from wagering does not become eligible merely because it is visible in the lobby.
Remaining stakes = remaining counted wagering ÷ contribution as a decimal.
For a $600 remaining target, 100% contribution means $600 in stakes. At 50%, the figure is $1,200. At 20%, it is $3,000. These calculations assume the contribution stays the same throughout the remaining activity.
A complete worked example
Suppose a $50 bonus has 30× bonus-only wagering. Its total target is $1,500. If $300 has already been credited, $1,200 of counted wagering remains. At a 20% contribution, the remaining stakes are $6,000.
A $1 permitted stake would add $0.20 of progress per round in that example. Dividing $1,200 by $0.20 produces 6,000 rounds. That is arithmetic, not an assessment of whether a balance can fund those rounds or whether continuing is sensible.
Why zero contribution is rejected
A 0% game adds no progress. Dividing a remaining target by zero would not produce a usable completion estimate, so the tool asks for a contribution above zero and no higher than 100%.
The UK Gambling Commission’s bonus-terms glossary identifies restricted games and different contributions as important promotional conditions. That source explains the terminology; it does not establish the rules or regulatory status of an operator listed on this site.
Subtract the progress that has actually been counted
The credited-progress field means the casino’s eligible wagering counter after contribution adjustments. It is not the current balance, the original deposit or the amount returned by winning rounds.
If you previously staked $500 on a 20% game and those stakes were fully eligible, they contribute $100. Enter $100 as credited progress, not $500. Using the raw stakes would subtract too much from the target.
When the next game has a different rate
Previously credited progress can come from different eligible games. Once you know the total progress already counted, enter that value and use the contribution rate applicable to the remaining calculation. This avoids applying the next game’s rate retrospectively to past play.
If progress exceeds the calculated target, the tool shows zero remaining and a message to check the inputs and account counter. It does not produce a negative stake requirement or confirm that a withdrawal is available.
A mismatch can indicate the wrong basis, a different promotion, excluded rounds, an account adjustment or misunderstood terminology. Compare the relevant records instead of placing more stakes to see whether the counter moves.
What the optional paid-round estimate means
Enter the complete permitted cost per paid round. The tool divides remaining stakes by that cost and rounds up to a whole round. It also rounds the displayed remaining-stakes amount up to the next cent.
For example, a $10 remaining target at 30% contribution requires about $33.3333 of stakes, displayed as $33.34. At $0.50 per paid round, the estimate is 67 rounds. Sixty-six rounds would contribute only $9.90, leaving part of that target outstanding.
It does not calculate playing time
Round speed, feature duration, interruptions and individual choices are not entered. A round count is not a recommendation to speed up play or use automated activity.
It does not check the maximum stake
The promotion may impose a maximum bet or additional rules for feature purchases and extra-stake options. The tool cannot look those up. Only use a stake allowed by the specific terms; increasing the entered stake changes the estimate, not the rule.
See the RTP calculator for theoretical return arithmetic. RTP and wagering contribution are different percentages: one describes a game model’s average return, while the other describes how promotional progress is counted.
Finishing the arithmetic does not settle every condition
Expiry and eligibility
A target can remain mathematically achievable after a deadline has passed, but the tool cannot extend the offer. Check account eligibility, the active coupon, permitted games and the actual expiry.
Balance and withdrawals
A displayed balance can contain restricted or removable promotional credit. Cashout caps, verification and payout-route requirements are separate from the wagering counter.
A hypothetical $1,000 target is not a request to deposit $1,000. Wagering is the total of eligible stakes, potentially including returned funds that are staked again. A balance may also be exhausted before a target is reached. The calculator does not model that sequence or predict profitability.
Read sticky versus non-sticky bonuses and bonus withdrawal limits for those conditions. A no-wagering claim still needs its own eligibility and withdrawal checks.
Do not add money merely to chase a bonus deadline or an unresolved balance. Support information is available on responsible gambling.
Common calculation errors to avoid
- Entering a deposit where the terms refer to bonus credit.
- Using the number of free spins instead of actual spin winnings.
- Subtracting raw stakes rather than progress after contribution.
- Confusing a game’s RTP with its promotional contribution.
- Counting an excluded game as eligible wagering.
- Treating the calculated target as a loss forecast or guaranteed withdrawal.
Reset restores the default example. Changing an input clears the previous displayed result until you calculate again. The tool runs locally in your browser; its form does not send the entered amounts to our server or connect to a casino account.
For an unclear coupon, read bonus-code troubleshooting. Find related explanations in the guides hub and bonus directory. Report a calculation issue through contact with the input values and the result you expected so editor John Weekes can reproduce it.
Wagering calculator FAQs
How do I calculate a wagering requirement?
Multiply the amount specified as the wagering basis by the multiplier. Then subtract eligible progress already counted and adjust the remainder for the selected game’s contribution.
What is the difference between bonus-only and combined wagering?
Bonus-only wagering applies the multiplier to bonus credit. Combined wagering applies it to deposit plus bonus. The same multiplier can therefore produce different targets.
What do I enter for free-spin winnings?
Enter the actual promotional winnings subject to the requirement, not the number of spins or their nominal stake value.
Does 20% contribution mean 20% RTP?
No. Contribution measures how much eligible wagering counts towards promotional progress. RTP describes a game model’s theoretical return and is a different percentage.
What counts as wagering already credited?
Use progress already recognised by the casino after contribution adjustments. Do not enter the balance, deposit or unadjusted total stakes.
Why does the calculator reject 0% contribution?
A 0% game adds no wagering progress. It cannot complete a positive remaining target, so the tool cannot provide a finite remaining-stakes estimate for it.
Does the result tell me how much to deposit?
No. It describes eligible stakes under the entered rules. It does not calculate a deposit requirement, the chance of completion or the balance needed to fund those stakes.
How is the paid-round estimate rounded?
The tool rounds up to a whole paid round at the entered permitted stake. Remaining stakes are displayed rounded up to the next cent.
Does zero remaining wagering guarantee a cashout?
No. Check the actual account counter, eligibility, expiry, stake rules, balance treatment, verification and withdrawal limits separately.
Does the form connect to my casino account?
No. It runs locally in your browser and does not submit its entered figures to our server. You must supply the applicable terms and credited progress.
