Online Slots Guides & Calculators

Home » Online Slots Guides & Calculators
Editor: Updated

This is the directory for our ten slots guides and calculators. Start with game mechanics if you are reading a paytable, use the calculators for a defined arithmetic question, or choose a bonus guide to understand account conditions.

The guides explain different parts of the same subject without treating them as interchangeable. A game’s payout, a promotion’s wagering progress and an approved withdrawal are different records. Knowing which question you are asking makes the information easier to use.

Choose the question you need answered

What happened in the game?

Start with the game cycle, paytable, win paths and special-symbol rules. Then separate the theoretical average from the distribution of possible returns.

Explore game mechanics

What does this number mean?

Use the relevant calculator with confirmed inputs. Read the worked examples and limits before applying a figure to an actual account.

Choose a calculator

What does the offer require?

Check the benefit, qualifying action, wagering basis and balance treatment. If a claim fails, record the actual message and account status.

Explore bonus conditions

Each page has an on-page contents box and expandable FAQs. The linked editor name and updated date appear above the article. A correction should identify the precise game rule, offer condition or calculation involved, rather than relying on a general impression.

Two calculators for two different jobs

Slots RTP calculator

Enter the complete stake per paid spin, spin count and theoretical RTP. The tool calculates turnover, expected return, expected loss and house edge. Optional actual gross returns produce an observed return percentage and net result.

Use it to check expected-value arithmetic. It does not forecast a session, calculate volatility or guarantee that a balance can fund the entered spins.

Open the RTP calculator

Bonus wagering calculator

Choose bonus-only, deposit-plus-bonus or actual spin-winnings wagering. Add the multiplier, game contribution and progress already credited. A permitted stake can give an optional paid-round estimate.

Use it to calculate a defined target and remaining stakes. It does not activate a promotion, confirm eligibility or approve a withdrawal.

What to have ready

For RTP, use the exact game information and complete paid-round cost. For wagering, use the actual promotion’s basis, multiplier and eligible-game contribution. Keep all monetary values in the same currency; neither calculator converts currencies.

Both forms run locally in the browser rather than connecting to a casino account. They use the values you enter. A correct calculation cannot establish that an assumed input matches the actual game or offer.

Three guides to game mechanics

How online slots work

Follow a paid round from the accepted stake to the outcome and paytable evaluation. Learn how random results, wilds, scatters, game features and payout units fit together.

Start here when a game’s layout or terminology is unfamiliar. The examples distinguish a paying combination from a net profitable round.

Read how slots work

Slot volatility explained

Compare the theoretical average with the spread of possible results. Two fictional games demonstrate how equal RTP can accompany different prize distributions.

Read this when a rating, maximum-win banner or recent session is being used to make a claim about future outcomes.

Read the volatility guide

Slot paylines explained

Use a labelled reel diagram to trace a path, then work through line-stake and total-stake payout examples. Compare fixed lines, selectable lines, ways and cluster systems.

Read this when matching symbols are visible but it is unclear whether they form a qualifying combination.

Read the paylines guide

These pages explain the concepts. For a particular title, its current help screen, selected mode and paytable establish the actual rules. A description of one format does not assign that format to every game with a similar layout.

The slots directory links the pages about specific formats and features, including Megaways, hold-and-spin and cascading reels.

Five guides to bonus conditions and claim problems

Wagering requirements

Identify the amount being multiplied, compare contribution rates and check stake limits, deadlines and existing progress. Worked examples show why a smaller printed multiplier can still produce a larger target.

Understand wagering requirements

Bonus codes not working?

Distinguish a rejected coupon from a missing allocation or unexpected credit amount. Follow checks for the exact string, brand, entry step, eligibility and useful support evidence.

Troubleshoot a coupon

The bonus directory groups benefit types. Read the current terms of the exact coupon separately: a code name, shared landing design or another brand’s package does not establish identical conditions.

Start with the guide that matches the problem

“The game returned something, but my balance went down.”

A paying combination can return less than the round cost. Use the paylines guide to check the payout unit, then compare the complete stake with the gross return. The RTP calculator can calculate an observed result from consistent records.

“Both games have the same RTP. Why do they feel different?”

Read volatility to separate average return from prize distribution. A short run of results does not establish the complete game model or a schedule for future wins.

“The offer says 20×. How much wagering is that?”

First identify its basis and contribution rules in the wagering-requirements guide. Then enter confirmed values into the wagering calculator. Do not choose the basis that merely gives the smallest answer.

“Wagering is complete, but the total is not withdrawable.”

Read balance treatment and withdrawal limits together. A zero wagering counter does not explain original-credit removal, cashout caps, verification or payout status.

“The coupon was accepted, but I cannot find the spins.”

Use code troubleshooting to check the allocation record, assigned title and timing. Assigned rounds do not necessarily appear as cash credit. Avoid paid rounds or another payment simply to test a guess.

Keep game figures, promotion figures and cashout figures separate

Game result

The complete cost and return for a round or a defined set of stakes. Check the paytable and game history.

Promotional progress

The eligible wagering already recognised under the active offer, after contribution adjustments.

Withdrawal position

The affected balance, applicable adjustments and current request status. A displayed total is not necessarily an approved payment.

For illustration, $200 of eligible stakes at 25% contribution adds $50 of promotional progress. That says nothing by itself about how much those games returned or what can be withdrawn. The three records answer different questions.

Similarly, 50 promotional spins at $0.20 represent $10 of nominal assigned stakes. They do not establish $10 of winnings. Read the spins-versus-chips guide before treating a count of rounds as a cash balance.

Use the rules and records for the actual situation

  1. Confirm the exact game, mode or promotion.
  2. Read the current help screen or complete offer wording.
  3. Keep currency, stake and payout units consistent.
  4. Distinguish recorded facts from an assumption or illustrative example.
  5. If something remains unclear, retain the relevant reference and ask a precise question.

A general guide cannot inspect an account or resolve a missing payment. For method questions, use the banking guides. For a brand’s published offer information, use the casino directory, then check the exact account-level conditions.

Do not extend play to obtain a supposedly representative result or add money to rescue an unresolved promotion. Keep essential funds separate and use responsible gambling information if needed.

For a factual or calculation correction, contact editor John Weekes through contact. Include the page and exact wording, or the calculator inputs and expected result. Do not send passwords, complete payment details or account authorisation codes.

Slots guides and calculator FAQs

Which guides are in this section?

There are two calculators, three game-mechanics guides and five guides covering bonus conditions and claim problems. The directory above links all ten pages.

Where should a beginner start?

Start with How Online Slots Work, then read Paylines and Volatility for the win system and outcome distribution. Use the exact title’s help screen for its specific rules.

What is the difference between the calculators?

The RTP calculator handles turnover and return arithmetic. The wagering calculator handles a defined promotional target, contribution and credited progress. Neither predicts profit or approves a withdrawal.

Do the calculators connect to my casino account?

No. The forms calculate locally in the browser using the inputs you supply. They do not retrieve account balances, game configuration or promotional terms.

Can an RTP figure predict my session?

No. A theoretical average does not guarantee a personal result, maximum loss or balance survival. Read the volatility guide for the distinction between average and spread.

Which page explains a wagering multiplier?

Read Wagering Requirements to identify the basis, contribution and other conditions. Then use the wagering calculator with confirmed values.

Which page explains bonus credit deductions?

Sticky vs Non-Sticky Bonuses explains credit and balance treatment. Bonus Withdrawal Limits explains how caps, deductions and payment conditions differ.

Are promotional free spins the same as in-game free spins?

No. Promotional spins are an account allocation. In-game spins are a feature under the title’s rules. The guides explain the distinction and how account conditions can still matter.

Where should I look if a coupon fails?

Use Bonus Codes Not Working to distinguish a rejected code, missing allocation and unexpected credit. Keep the exact message and relevant account reference.

How do I report an error in a guide?

Use the contact page and identify the exact page, statement or calculation. Include relevant public rules or the entered calculator values, without sharing credentials.
